Forest Lake downs Stillwater in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Forest Lake Rangers' Alex Egle scored 6:37 into overtime to beat the Stillwater Ponies, 4-3 (OT).

Forest Lake overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Rangers trailed 3-1 after a goal by Stillwater's Jon Heddle at 3:10 in the second period. Forest Lake tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Clayton Dahly at 16:44 in the third period.

The Rangers were led by Egle, who grabbed one goal.

Forest Lake kept the Ponies' goalie busy throughout the game, and Colton Anderson made 165 saves on 169 shots. The Rangers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Cody Rogala also scored for Forest Lake. More assists for Forest Lake came via Kyle Parker, who had one, Weston Kilpela, who had two, and Brett Gravelle, who had three.

Stillwater excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Ponies forced Forest Lake goalie Collin Peterson to work between the pipes, taking 84 shots.

Stillwater was led by Mitch Reinke, who had one goal and one assist. Reinke scored on the power play 9:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Ponies had taken the advantage when the Rangers' Brandon Rogers got sent off for cross checking. Jon Peterson picked up the assist. Stillwater also got a goal from Nick Peterson as well. In addition, Stillwater received assists from Cates Devin and Brandon Jungman, who each chipped in one.

Collin Peterson made 81 saves for Forest Lake on 84 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Stillwater incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
