Forest Lake squeaks by Cretin-Derham Hall, 4-2

The game between the Forest Lake Rangers and the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Forest Lake emerged with a 4-2 win.

The Rangers gained the winning advantage on a goal by Brett Gravelle 56 seconds into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Gravelle was all over the ice for Forest Lake, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Forest Lake additionally got points from Weston Kilpela, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Forest Lake also got a goal from Trevor Thompson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Forest Lake were Ryan Herbert, Kyle Parker, Brandon Rogers, and Paul Stehr, who each chipped in one.

Cretin-Derham Hall was helped by Kendall Bolen-Porter, who racked up one goal. Bolen-Porter scored 3:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cretin-Derham Hall. Cody Koempgten assisted on the tally. Joe Dekker also scored for Cretin-Derham Hall. More assists for Cretin-Derham Hall came via Derek Olmschenk and Bret Huebner, who contributed one a piece.

Jesse Garcia recorded 24 saves for Forest Lake. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Trent Jancze made 19 saves for the Raiders on 23 shots. Cretin-Derham Hall incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
