Mounds View rolls over Hastings, 6-1Shoreview Sat, Jan 12, 2013 The Mounds View Mustangs were firing on all cylinders against the Hastings Raiders, and when the final buzzer sounded Mustangs emerged with a 6-1 win. Mounds View was paced by Darian Romanko, who finished with one goal and one assist. Romanko scored 3:02 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Mounds View. John Sarafolean assisted on the tally. The Mustangs managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Mounds View ended up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. The Mustangs put 21 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.2 they average per game. Mounds View additionally got points from AJ Rupert, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jacob Tretsven, who also had one goal and one assist, and Sarafolean, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Mounds View also got a goal from Andrew Bjorklund as well. In addition, Mounds View received assists from Ryan Elvidge, who had three and Josh Lavalle and Austin Teske, who each chipped in one. Hastings' offense operated below it season average. The Raiders put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Hastings' offense was handcuffed by Mounds View's defensive play, and the Raiders managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. Brandon Smith made 13 saves for the Mustangs on 14 shots. Mounds View registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Hastings' Tyler Woyke stopped 15 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Raiders ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
