Cretin-Derham Hall uses early goal to top Roseville, 3-1Roseville Thu, Jan 10, 2013 Jim Buckingham scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders held off the challenges of the Roseville Raiders in a tough 3-1 win. A goal 7:04 into the the first period by Buckingham proved to be the game winner, and powered Cretin-Derham Hall to the victory Joe Dekker assisted on the tally.The Raiders' Trent Jancze was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 38 saves and let only one puck past him. Jancze certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.41 entering the contest. Cretin-Derham Hall was sparked by Bret Huebner, who had one goal and one assist. Huebner scored 7:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cretin-Derham Hall. Buckingham picked up the assist. Cretin-Derham Hall also got points from Buckingham, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cretin-Derham Hall also got a goal from Patrick Cullen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cretin-Derham Hall were Nick Reis, Kendall Bolen-Porter, and Aitor Flood, who each chipped in one. Roseville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Raiders average 3.8 goals per game. Roseville's offense rang up 39 shots on the Raiders' net. The Raiders were led by Pearcy Marks, who scored the team's only goal. Marks scored 8:48 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cretin-Derham Hall. Riley McCann provided the assist. Cretin-Derham Hall avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Zach Larson rejected 24 shots on goal for Roseville. The Raiders finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage.
