East Ridge squeaks by Hastings, 4-3

The game between the East Ridge Raptors and the Hastings Raiders was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end East Ridge emerged with a 4-3 win.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Robert Nickoloff's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

The Raptors' penalty kill excelled, as East Ridge gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Jack Greeley also scored for East Ridge. In addition, East Ridge received assists from Tyler Hart, Luke Ringhofer, Jack Dwyer, and Ryan McDonough, who contributed one a piece.

Hastings was led by Mark Huneke, who finished with two goals. Huneke scored the first of his two goals at 9:49 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Andrew Bussey provided the assist. Huneke's next tally made the score 2-2 with 5:02 left in the first period. The Raiders earned a power play opportunity when Kevin Donahue was put in the box for boarding. Bussey picked up the assist. Hastings also got a goal from Joe Shingledecker as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hastings were David McConnell, who had one and Matt Koch, who had two.

Tyler Guck made 27 saves for the Raptors on 30 shots. East Ridge totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Matt Radke recorded 20 saves for Hastings. The Raiders ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
