Hastings holds on for 2-1 win against Stillwater

The Stillwater Ponies tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Hastings Raiders would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

Hastings took a 2-0 lead during the second period, only to have Stillwater storm back on a Jake Cass goal 16:53 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Raiders were led by Matt Flynn, who had one goal. Flynn scored on the power play 10:35 into the second period to make the score Hastings. Hastings had taken the advantage when the Ponies' Mitch Reinke got sent off for interference. Mark Huneke assisted on the tally.

The Raiders stifled Stillwater's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Hastings also got a goal from Matt Koch as well. More assists for Hastings came via Andrew Bussey, who had two.

The Ponies' penalty kill unit could not stop Hastings' power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

Matt Radke made 22 saves for the Raiders on 23 shots. Hastings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Colton Anderson rejected 24 shots on goal for Stillwater. The Ponies incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
