The Duluth Denfeld Hunters tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Mounds View Mustangs held on for a 3-2 victory.

Mounds View made the score 2-0 on a goal by Darian Romanko at 9:47 in the first period, and Duluth Denfeld got as close as 2-1 when Nick Thompson scored 5:15 into the third period.

Romanko had a great game for the Mustangs, netting two goals.

Mounds View allowed the opposing netminder to relax, launching only four shots on goal to force one save. Still, the total topped the Mustangs' average of 3.0 per game this year.

Mounds View additionally got points from AJ Rupert, who also registered one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Mounds View were Matt Hunt, who had one.

Duluth Denfeld also got a goal from Alex Thompson as well. More assists for Duluth Denfeld came via Levi Talarico,  Steven Maciver, and Nick Thompson, who contributed one a piece.

Mounds View incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Hunters incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
