Red Lake Falls downs Breckenridge/Wahpeton in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Zack Landman gave the Red Lake Falls Eagles a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Breckenridge/Wahpeton Blades when he scored 7:19 into the extra period.

Red Lake Falls got the win behind a great game by Landman, who had two goals and one assist. Landman scored the first of his two goals at 15:10 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Ryan Amiot picked up the assist. Landman's next tally made the score 3-2 Red Lake Falls with 12:41 left in overtime. Amiot provided the assist.

The Eagles' offense rang up 31 shots on Breckenridge/Wahpeton's net.

Red Lake Falls also got points from Amiot, who also racked up one goal and two assists. In addition, Red Lake Falls received assists from Tristan Knott and Taylor Kenfield, who contributed one a piece.

The Blades put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Red Lake Falls to score on any of its four power plays. The Eagles were unable to stop Breckenridge/Wahpeton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Breckenridge/Wahpeton was led by Tyler Barth, who had one goal and one assist. Barth scored on the power play 11:22 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Breckenridge/Wahpeton. The Blades earned a power play opportunity when Lars Brevik was put in the box for interference. Austin Hagstrom picked up the assist. Breckenridge/Wahpeton also got a goal from Zach Reiff as well. Other players who recorded assists for Breckenridge/Wahpeton were Tyler Gripentrog, who had two.

Red Lake Falls' Wyatt Casavan stopped 40 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Michael Withuski made 28 saves for Breckenridge/Wahpeton on 31 shots. The Blades totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
