Minnehaha Academy rips Dodge County, 5-2

The Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Dodge County Wildcats.

Ryan Leo was all over the ice for Minnehaha Academy, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Leo scored 9:12 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Minnehaha Academy. Ryan Evenson assisted on the tally.

Dodge County's power play was ineffective against the Red Hawks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Minnehaha Academy's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Dodge County power plays. The Red Hawks forced the Wildcats goalie Mitch Sobotta to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Minnehaha Academy was often in penalty trouble, as it ended with five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time.

Minnehaha Academy also got points from Evenson, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Minnehaha Academy also got a goal from Erik Madryga as well. In addition, Minnehaha Academy received assists from Josh Radtke, who had two and Zach Newton and Noah Fabie, who each chipped in one.

Dodge County excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

The Wildcats were led by Spencer Senn, who had one goal. Senn scored 1:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dodge County. Christopher Roberts picked up the assist. Tanner Dufault also scored for Dodge County. Other players who recorded assists for Dodge County were Stefan Rechtzigel, Sam Robinson, and Christian Schillo, who contributed one a piece.

The Red Hawks' Tommy Adams stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Mitch Sobotta made 27 saves for Dodge County on 32 shots. The Wildcats ended with 34 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors.
