Faribault erases deficit to stun Dodge County, 3-2

The Faribault Falcons rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win over the Dodge County Wildcats.

Faribault never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Falcons fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Dodge County's Bryan Knesel at 12:44 in the second period. Faribault knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Tyler Becker at 5:43 in the third period. The Falcons got the game winner on the power play at 15:27 in the third period on a goal by Becker.

Faribault pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 30 penalty minutes.

The Falcons were led by Connor Wierschem, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Faribault also got a goal from Austin Houge as well. In addition, Faribault received assists from Riley Marquardt, Issiah Brogden, and Jacob Werner, who contributed one a piece.

The Wildcats were helped by Chris Roberts, who had one goal. Roberts scored 15:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dodge County. Stefan Rechtzigel provided the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dodge County were Kylo Courteau, who had one.

Cody Morsching recorded 18 saves for Faribault. The Falcons registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Dodge County's Mitch Sobotta stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Wildcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
