Pine City/Rush City rolls over Moose Lake Area, 6-1

The Pine City/Rush City Dragons had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Moose Lake Area Rebels.

Pine City/Rush City was sparked by Colby Pavelka, who grabbed one goal. Pavelka scored 6:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pine City/Rush City. Dewy Carr assisted on the tally.

The Dragons forced Moose Lake Area goalie Gage Mohelsky to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. Pine City/Rush City's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Dragons average 3.5 goals per contest.

Pine City/Rush City additionally got points from Adam Swanson, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Casey Lucht, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and TJ Gross, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Colton Brant also scored for Pine City/Rush City. Other players who recorded assists for Pine City/Rush City were Blake Cook, Conner Werner, and Jake Kleinsasser, who each chipped in one.

The Rebels racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. Moose Lake Area had been averaging 12.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Rebels did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting seven shots on net to force six saves.

Moose Lake Area also got a goal from Zach Paull as well. In addition, Moose Lake Area received assists from Gabe Douglas and Jesse Granfors, who contributed one a piece.

Tony Pitzen rejected six shots on goal for Pine City/Rush City. The Dragons incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Moose Lake Area's Mohelsky stopped 46 shots out of the 52 that he faced. The Rebels registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
