Moore nets hat trick, leads Benilde St. Margarets to 7-5 win over Holy Family CatholicSt. Louis Park East Wed, Jan 30, 2013 The Holy Family Catholic Fire could not stop the Benilde St. Margarets Red Knights' T.J. Moore, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-5 win. Moore's first goal came 13:11 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:36 into the second and at 16:32 into the third.Benilde St. Margarets led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Red Knights' Johnny Austin's scored at 8:41 in the third period to put Benilde St. Margarets up 6-3. The Red Knights' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Benilde St. Margarets averages 2.4 goals allowed per game. The Red Knights relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Moore, Grant Besse and Austin took 30 of the team's 46 shots. Benilde St. Margarets additionally got points from Austin, who also had one goal and one assist and Seth Chumley, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Evan Fleming also scored for Benilde St. Margarets. In addition, Benilde St. Margarets received assists from Mark Kaske, who had one, Nate Labosky, who had three, and Spencer Naas and Alec Baer, who each chipped in two. With 23 shots on target during the contest, Holy Family Catholic exceeded the 3.5 shots it averages per game this year. The Fire were helped by Jonh Peterson, who tallied two goals. Peterson's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 Holy Family Catholic with 10:58 left in the first period. Ryan Swanson provided the assist. Holy Family Catholic also got points from Garret Riebling, who also registered one goal and two assists, Shane Gersich, who also had one goal and one assist, and Swanson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Holy Family Catholic came via Joey Marooney, who had one. Andrew Sprang made 18 saves for Benilde St. Margarets on 23 shots. The Red Knights incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Derek LaCombe recorded 39 saves for the Fire. Holy Family Catholic totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
