Legacy Christian Academy pulls away in second, rolls over Pine City/Rush City, 5-0

The Pine City/Rush City Dragons allowed the Legacy Christian Academy Lions to net three goals during the second period and fell, 5-0.

Tyler Arenz had two goals and one assist to lead Legacy Christian Academy. Arenz scored the first of his two goals at 1:06 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Legacy Christian Academy. Arenz's next tally made the score 5-0 Legacy Christian Academy with 15:48 left in the third period. Sam Asfahl assisted on the tally.

The Lions' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Pine City/Rush City power plays. Legacy Christian Academy forced Pine City/Rush City goalie Tony Pitzen to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Legacy Christian Academy also got a goal from Brock Thompson as well. In addition, Legacy Christian Academy received assists from Brandon Leier, Shaw Wiczek, and Tanner Balk, who contributed one a piece.

The Dragons were held below their usual level of production. Pine City/Rush City averages 3.4 goals per game. The Dragons found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against the Lions' defense. Pine City/Rush City found itself short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Tanner Balk recorded 13 saves for Legacy Christian Academy. The Lions ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Dragons' Pitzen stopped 28 shots out of the 33 that he faced.
