Huge game by Kratzke boosts North Branch over Moose Lake Area, 7-3

The North Branch Vikings' Brandon Kratzke had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over the Moose Lake Area Rebels.

Kratzke got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 15:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North Branch. North Branch had gained a power play chance when Zach Paull was whistled for cross checking. Caleb Larson picked up the assist. Kratzke dished an assist on Brandon Waldo's goal that made the score 3-1 North Branch at 16:08 into the second period. He added another helper on Alex Miller's goal that made the score 7-3 North Branch at 16:51 into the third period.

The Vikings forced Moose Lake Area goalie Gage Mohelsky to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. North Branch found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Vikings average 3.2 goals per game.

North Branch additionally got points from Tyler cashill, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mitchell Patten also scored for North Branch. Other players who recorded assists for North Branch were Jared Axberg, who had two and Colten Danks and Ryan Zentner, who each chipped in one.

The Rebels' offense rang up 37 shots on North Branch's net.

Moose Lake Area was helped by Cole Lower, who tallied one goal. Lower scored 8:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Moose Lake Area. Moose Lake Area also got points from Gabe Douglas, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Moose Lake Area also got a goal from Jesse Granfors as well. In addition, Moose Lake Area received assists from Tyler Hoffman, who had one.

Donovan Stefan recorded 34 saves for the Vikings. North Branch incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gage Mohelsky made 35 saves for the Rebels on 42 shots. Moose Lake Area incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Rebels, Joey Whited was ejected from the game.
