Legacy Christian Academy beats Moose Lake Area 9-0 as Thompson gets hat trick

Brock Thompson netted a hat trick to lead the Legacy Christian Academy Lions over the Moose Lake Area Rebels, 9-0.

Thompson's first goal came 58 seconds into the first period. He then added goals at 7:45 into the first and at 15:14 into the first.

Legacy Christian Academy gained an early advantage, leading 4-0 by the end of the first period.

The Lions kept Moose Lake Area's goalie busy throughout the game, and Gage Mohelsky made 42 saves on 51 shots. Legacy Christian Academy found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Lions have scored at the pace of 5.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Legacy Christian Academy also got points from Brandon Leier, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Legacy Christian Academy included Lucas Stauffeneker, who had two and Jacob Kaden, Gordy Vitek, and Shaw Wiczek, who each put in one. More assists for Legacy Christian Academy came via Sam Asfahl, Jordan Sutherland, Ike Larson, Zach Cole, and Tyler Arenz, who contributed one a piece.

The Rebels' offense were handcuffed by Legacy Christian Academy's defensive play, and Moose Lake Area managed only two shots on goal during the game.

Brandon Cram made two saves for the Lions on two shots. Legacy Christian Academy incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Rebels totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
