Huge game by Larson boosts Legacy Christian Academy over Ely/Northeast Range, 9-2Rukavina Sat, Dec 29, 2012 The Legacy Christian Academy Lions' Ike Larson had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 9-2 win over the Ely/Northeast Range Timberwolves. Larson scored at 4:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Legacy Christian Academy and again while 16:25 into the second to make the score 8-1 Legacy Christian Academy.Legacy Christian Academy put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Ely/Northeast Range to score on any of its three power plays. The Lions' offense rang up 73 shots on the Timberwolves' net. Legacy Christian Academy bested its season scoring average. The Lions average 5.5 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Legacy Christian Academy additionally got points from Lucas Stauffeneker, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Tyler Arenz, who also grabbed three goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Legacy Christian Academy also got a goal from Jacob Kaden as well. Ely/Northeast Range could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. The Timberwolves were led by Patrick Kerntz, who tallied one goal. Kerntz scored 12:03 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Legacy Christian Academy.
