The Legacy Christian Academy Lions and the WSFLG Blizzard skate to 4-4 (OT) tieGrantsburg Arena Tue, Dec 18, 2012 Two goals from Alex Hopkins and one point from Jake Swenson could not prevent WSFLG from drawing with Legacy Christian Academy, 4-4 (OT). The Lions were led by Zach Cole, who finished with one goal and two assists. Cole scored on the power play 7:10 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Legacy Christian Academy earned a power play opportunity when Matt Larson was put in the box for tripping. Brock Thompson provided the assist. Matt Larson also scored for Legacy Christian Academy. More assists for Legacy Christian Academy came via Lucas Stauffeneker and Elmo Holleran, who contributed one a piece. The Blizzard did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. WSFLG averages 8.0 goals per game. The Blizzard's offense rang up 49 shots on the Lions' net. WSFLG also got points from Larson, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, WSFLG received assists from Brandon Ryan, Dakota Linke, and Damon Roberts, who each chipped in one. Legacy Christian Academy's Tanner Balk stopped 45 shots out of the 49 that he faced. The Lions totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. Brandon Roufs rejected 25 shots on goal for WSFLG. The Blizzard incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
