Early goals doom Pine City/Rush City, falls to Legacy Christian Academy, 13-0Schwan SR-1 Tue, Dec 11, 2012 The Pine City/Rush City Dragons fell behind early, and the Legacy Christian Academy Lions kept piling on the points on the way to a 13-0 victory. Legacy Christian Academy got the win on the strength of a great game by Brandon Leier, who had two goals and one assist. Leier scored the first of his two goals at 1:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Legacy Christian Academy. Tyler Arenz provided the assist. Leier's next tally made the score 10-0 Legacy Christian Academy with 9:24 left in the second period. The Lions had gotten the advantage when Pine City/Rush City's Zach Smith was sent off for interference. Sam Asfahl assisted on the tally. Legacy Christian Academy's penalty kill excelled, as the Lions gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Legacy Christian Academy stifled the Dragons' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lions was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Legacy Christian Academy averages 3.0 goals allowed per game.
