Worthington's Johnson deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Fairmont

Behind a great game by Andrew Johnson, who had two goals, the Worthington Trojans defeated the Fairmont Cardinals, 4-1.

Johnson scored at 6:21 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Worthington and again while 9:42 into the third to make the score 3-1 Worthington.

Worthington's penalty kill excelled, as the Trojans gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Worthington stifled Fairmont's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Trojans could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Worthington also got a goal from Levi Leach as well.

The Cardinals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Worthington power plays.

Fairmont was led by Joe Nordquist, who scored the team's only goal. Nordquist scored 9:20 into the first period to make the score 1-1.

Ryan Scholtes recorded 23 saves for Worthington. Colton Cunning made 13 saves for the Cardinals on 17 shots. Fairmont incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
