Sartell-St.Stephen downs Willmar, 3-1

Andrew Lindmeier had one point to lead the Sartell-St.Stephen Sabres to a 3-1 victory over the Willmar Cardinals.

Sartell-St.Stephen also got points from Spencer Zwiener, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Tyler Minkel, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Sartell-St.Stephen were Matthew Bakken, Matthew Ringhand, and Aaron Randall, who each chipped in one.

Willmar excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Cardinals did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Willmar puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game.

The Cardinals were led by Hunter Schneider, who scored the team's only goal. Schneider scored 8:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Willmar. Ryan Woltjer provided the assist.

Sartell-St.Stephen's Elliott Brookins stopped 21 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Sabres incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Joey Benson made 22 saves for Willmar on 25 shots. The Cardinals incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
