Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter beats Waseca 6-0 as Wenner gets hat trick

Sam Wenner netted a hat trick to lead the Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter Bulldogs over the Waseca Bluejays, 6-0.

Wenner notched his first tally 9:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:11 into the first and at 16:28 into the first.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

Waseca fell victim to a deadly the Bulldogs power play, which ripped the Bluejays for four goals.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter forced Waseca goalie Zac Weichert to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Bulldogs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter has scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter additionally got points from Austin Braun, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jonny Favre, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter also got a goal from CJ Pavlo as well. More assists for Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter came via Luke Regner, who had two and Ryan Hoehn, Brock Solomon, and Sam Gerdts, who each chipped in one.

The Bluejays could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Waseca averages 2.2 goals per game. The Bulldogs' defense shut down the Bluejays' forwards for much of the game, and Waseca got off only three shots during the contest.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter's Chris Amsden stopped three shots out of the three that he faced. The Bulldogs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Weichert rejected 28 shots on goal for the Bluejays. Waseca totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
