Detroit Lakes falls to Wadena-Deer Creek in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Wadena Community Center Thu, Jan 31, 2013 The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines' Dylan Phillips scored 7:59 into overtime to beat the Detroit Lakes Lakers, 5-4 (OT). Christian Berg had two goals and one assist to lead Wadena-Deer Creek. Berg scored the first of his two goals at 9:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wadena-Deer Creek. Mitchell Swanson assisted on the tally. Berg's next tally made the score 3-3 with 19:49 left in the third period. Bridger Pettit provided the assist. The Wolverines excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Wadena-Deer Creek additionally got points from Swanson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mike Paavola also scored for Wadena-Deer Creek. Other players who recorded assists for Wadena-Deer Creek were Mike Behl, Otto Asp, and Jake Krause, who each chipped in one.
