Stumpf stymies Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, Little Falls wins 6-1

Michael Stumpf had a standout game with 26 saves, and the Little Falls Flyers beat the Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl Blue Devils 6-1.

Little Falls was led by Austin Bjorge, who registered one goal. Bjorge scored on the power play 4:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Little Falls. The Flyers had gotten the advantage when Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl's Travis Kemp was sent off for boarding. Austin Fenske picked up the assist.

Little Falls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blue Devils to score on any of their five power plays. The Flyers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Little Falls additionally got points from Fenske, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Mark Anez, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Little Falls also got a goal from Thomas Miller as well. More assists for Little Falls came via Ben Newman, who had two and Luke Majerle, Taylor Drager, Mack Anez, and August Maciej, who each chipped in one.

Penalties took their toll on Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

The Blue Devils were led by Zach Voss, who scored the team's only goal. Voss scored 10:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl. Zach Kalisch assisted on the tally.

Little Falls ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl's Andrew Sederlund stopped 23 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Blue Devils ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
