Wenner leads Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter over Austin, 5-2

Behind a great game by Sam Wenner, who had two goals and two assists, the Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter Bulldogs defeated the Austin Packers, 5-2.

Wenner found the back of the net 14 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter and again while 16:46 into the third to make the score 5-2 Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Austin power plays. The Bulldogs' goal total was higher than their season average. Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter has scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter additionally got points from Luke Regner, who also had two goals and one assist. Ryan Moriarty also scored for Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter. More assists for Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter came via Chris Amsden, who had one and Austin Braun and Brett Zallek, who each chipped in two.

Austin put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bulldogs to score on any of their three power plays.

The Packers were led by Ethan larson, who finished with two goals. Larson scored the first of his two goals short handed at 10:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Austin found itself down a man on Tony Baudler's high sticking. Marcus Stoulil assisted on the tally. larson's next tally short handed made the score 2-1 Austin with 8:25 left in the first period.

Amsden rejected 26 shots on goal for Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rainer Londino-Green recorded 20 saves for the Packers. Austin incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
