Minnehaha Academy takes care of St. Paul Highland Park early, wins 12-0Highland Arena North Mon, Dec 10, 2012 A four-goal first period deficit cost the St. Paul Highland Park Scots, which could not recover and fell to the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks, 12-0. Minnehaha Academy got the win behind a great game by Ryan Evenson, who had one goal and five assists. Evenson scored 5:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnehaha Academy. Noah Fabie assisted on the tally. The Red Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Paul Highland Park power plays. Minnehaha Academy forced St. Paul Highland Park goalie Howie Sands to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. The Red Hawks bested their season scoring average. This season, Minnehaha Academy averages 5.5 goals per contest. The defensemen of the Red Hawks were also effective in the Scots' zone, and came away with four goals. Minnehaha Academy also got points from Jacob Eggers, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Ryan Leo, who also grabbed three goals and two assists, Sam Lundquist, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Fabie, who also grabbed two goals and three assists. Others who scored for Minnehaha Academy included Zach Newton, who had one and Charlie Welter, who had two. More assists for Minnehaha Academy came via Josh Galkowski, who had two, Nick Terlizzi, who had four, and David Schuyler and Luke Erickson, who contributed one a piece. St. Paul Highland Park found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against Minnehaha Academy's defense. Matt Sawyer made 11 saves for the Red Hawks on 11 shots. Minnehaha Academy incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Scots' Sands stopped 33 shots out of the 45 that he faced.
