The Sartell-St.Stephen Sabres could not stop the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm's Travis Kothenbeutel, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-1 win.

Kothenbeutel's first goal came 3:38 into the second period. He then added goals at 4:52 into the second and at 13:58 into the third.

Sauk Rapids-Rice kept Sartell-St.Stephen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Carter Kasianov made 25 saves on 31 shots. The Storm found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Sauk Rapids-Rice averages 3.7 goals per contest.

Sauk Rapids-Rice also got points from Joel Haller, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brandon Duray also scored for Sauk Rapids-Rice. Other players who recorded assists for Sauk Rapids-Rice were Corbin Heder, James Geisler, and Blake Chapa, who contributed one a piece.

The Sabres found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against the Storm's defense.

Sartell-St.Stephen was led by Isaac Linstrom, who scored the team's only goal. Linstrom scored on the power play 3:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sartell-St.Stephen. Andrew Lindmeier provided the assist.

William Mortenson made 10 saves for Sauk Rapids-Rice on 11 shots. The Storm incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Sabres incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
