Larson's big game bests St. Paul Highland Park in 9-1 Austin win

The Austin Packers' Ethan larson had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 9-1 win over the St. Paul Highland Park Scots.

Larson got on the board by slotting home a goal 2:34 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Trevor Stevens picked up the assist. Larson dished an assist on Stevens' goal that made the score 2-1 Austin at 5:03 into the second period. He then added assists on Tony Baudler's goal at 5:45 into the second and on Marcus Stoulil's goal at 2:11 into the third.

Austin excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Packers kept St. Paul Highland Park's goalie busy throughout the game, and Howie Sands made 54 saves on 63 shots. Austin found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Packers average 5.8 goals per game. Austin got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Austin additionally got points from Baudler, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Stoulil, who also had two goals and one assist, Stevens, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Alec Bawek, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Austin included Dan Larson, who had one and Adam Maxfield, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Austin were Cole Nicol, who had three, Pat Wagner and Alec Papper, who each chipped in one, and Conor Peterson and Nick Castellano, who contributed two a piece.

The Scots were led by Connel McGough, who scored the team's only goal. McGough scored 22 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Paul Highland Park. Grant Vernon assisted on the tally.

The Packers' Rainer Londino-Green stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. Austin incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. St. Paul Highland Park incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
