Paulson nets hat trick, leads Rochester John Marshall to 6-2 win over Faribault

The Faribault Falcons could not stop the Rochester John Marshall Rockets' Nick Paulson, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win.

Paulson got on the scoresheet 11:05 into the second period. He then added goals at 2:18 into the third and at 2:57 into the third.

Rochester John Marshall stifled Faribault's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rockets' goal total was higher than their season average. Rochester John Marshall averages 2.7 goals per game.

Rochester John Marshall also got points from Gavin Sandwick, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Rochester John Marshall also got a goal from Mitch King as well. More assists for Rochester John Marshall came via Hunter Heightland, who had three and Alex Lovett and Alec McGinn, who each chipped in one.

The Falcons were helped by Daniel Pierce, who registered one goal. Pierce scored 3:33 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Faribault. Cody Colegrove also scored for Faribault. In addition, Faribault received assists from Connor Wierschem, who had one.

Jacob Garvey rejected 20 shots on goal for the Rockets. Rochester John Marshall incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities. Chase Batchelder recorded 19 saves for Faribault. The Falcons finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
