Tapani's hat trick boosts Providence Academy over St. Paul Como Park, 8-4Plymouth Ice Center Tue, Feb 05, 2013 Ryan Tapani netted a hat trick to lead the Providence Academy Lions over the St. Paul Como Park Cougars, 8-4. Tapani's first goal came 16:31 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:03 into the second and at 6:45 into the third.Providence Academy pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes. The Lions excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. St. Paul Como Park was unable to stop Providence Academy from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lions eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Providence Academy bested its season scoring average. This season, the Lions average 4.8 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals. Providence Academy additionally got points from Michael Cossette, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Ryan Muurphy, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Austin Jacenko also scored for Providence Academy. In addition, Providence Academy received assists from Jack McGeehan and Jack McGinty, who contributed one a piece and Joe Kenney and Jake Braun, who each chipped in two.
