Legacy Christian Academy beats Proctor 6-3 as Holleran gets hat trick

A hat trick by Elmo Holleran was the highlight in Lions' 6-3 win against the Proctor Rails.

Holleran got on the scoresheet 5:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:52 into the second and at 14:34 into the third.

The Legacy Christian Academy Lions stifled Proctor's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Legacy Christian Academy forced the Rails goalie Tanner Haedrich to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. The Lions got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Legacy Christian Academy additionally got points from Ike Larson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Legacy Christian Academy also got a goal from Gordy Vitek as well. More assists for Legacy Christian Academy came via Brandon Leier, Tyler Arenz, and Joe Olufson, who contributed one a piece and Sam Asfahl and Zach Cole, who each chipped in two.

Proctor was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The Rails had been averaging 17.0 minutes in penalties per game.

Proctor was helped by Shane Gould, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Gould scored 7:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Legacy Christian Academy. Christian Ripley provided the assist. Proctor also got points from Brodie Nordquist, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Josh Ernst also scored for Proctor. Other players who recorded assists for Proctor were Jake Malec and Ty Rackliffe, who contributed one a piece.

Tanner Balk made 18 saves for Legacy Christian Academy on 21 shots. The Lions incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Rails' Haedrich stopped 36 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Proctor registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
