Little Falls rips Prairie Centre, 6-0

The Little Falls Flyers were firing on all cylinders against the Prairie Centre North Stars, and when the final buzzer sounded Flyers emerged with a 6-0 win.

Ben Newman had two goals and two assists to lead Little Falls. Newman scored the first of his two goals short handed at 16:01 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Little Falls. Luke Majerle provided the assist. Newman's next tally short handed made the score 3-0 Little Falls with 13:18 left in the third period. Austin Bjorge picked up the assist.

The Flyers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Prairie Centre power plays. Prairie Centre was unable to stop Little Falls from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Little Falls surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Flyers average 3.8 goals per game.

Little Falls also got points from Bjorge, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Majerle, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Little Falls also got a goal from Spencer Fenske as well. In addition, Little Falls received assists from Taylor Kottschade, Austin Fenske, and Thomas Miller, who contributed one a piece.

The North Stars managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Prairie Centre ended up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. Little Falls' defense shut down the North Stars' forwards for much of the game, and Prairie Centre got off only 13 shots during the contest.

Michael Stumpf recorded 13 saves for the Flyers. Little Falls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The North Stars' Clay Deters stopped 28 shots out of the 34 that he faced.
