Owatonna downs Winona, 7-0

Dallas Hegard grabbed one point to lead the Owatonna Huskies to a 7-0 victory over the Winona Winhawks.

Owatonna put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Winona to score on any of its three power plays. The Huskies was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Owatonna averages 3.0 goals allowed per game. The Huskies surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Owatonna has scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Owatonna additionally got points from Matt Ratzloff, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Jordan Kline, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Soren Colstrup, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Mason Bloomquis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Owatonna also got a goal from Brandon Wencl as well. In addition, Owatonna received assists from Aaron Peterson, who had two and Aaron Kirsch, Austin Dalland, and Sam Hylle, who each chipped in one.

The Winhawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Winona finished below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game.

Luke Ebeling recorded 15 saves for the Huskies. Owatonna incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Winhawks' Andrew Yeske stopped 21 shots out of the 28 that he faced.
