Kirsch leads Owatonna over Rochester John Marshall, 5-2

The Owatonna Huskies' Aaron Kirsch had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Rochester John Marshall Rockets.

Kirsch scored short handed at 11:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Rochester John Marshall and again while on the power play 13:40 into the third to make the score 5-2 Owatonna.

Rochester John Marshall was unable to stop Owatonna from sending pucks towards the net, and the Huskies eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Owatonna additionally got points from Matt Ratzloff, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Mason Bloomquis, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brandon Wencl also scored for Owatonna. Other players who recorded assists for Owatonna were Aaron Peterson and Mitch Skelton, who contributed one a piece.

The Rockets did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 12 saves. Rochester John Marshall was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes.

The Rockets were helped by Nick Paulson, who grabbed one goal. Paulson scored 6:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Rochester John Marshall. Sam Broman provided the assist. Rochester John Marshall also got a goal from Cole Donahue as well.

Luke Ebeling rejected 12 shots on goal for Owatonna. The Huskies incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Jacob Garvey made 27 saves for Rochester John Marshall on 32 shots. The Rockets registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
