Owatonna hangs on, beats Austin 3-1Owatonna High School Thu, Jan 17, 2013 Dallas Hegard gave the Owatonna Huskies the lead in the first period, and the Austin Packers was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1. A goal 8:33 into the the first period by Hegard proved to be the game winner, and powered Owatonna to the victory The Huskies earned a power play opportunity when Marcus Stoulil was put in the box for interference. Matt Ratzloff picked up the assist.Owatonna got the win thanks to a great game by Ratzloff, who had two goals and one assist. Ratzloff scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:48 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Huskies had gained a power play chance when Stoulil was whistled for interference. Aaron Kirsch assisted on the tally. Ratzloff's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 Owatonna with 3:36 left in the first period. Mason Bloomquist picked up the assist. Owatonna excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Huskies' offense rang up 42 shots on Austin's net. In addition, Owatonna received assists from Andrew Ramart, who had one. The Packers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Austin averages 3.6 goals per game. Luke Ebeling recorded 18 saves for Owatonna. The Huskies incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Rainer Londino-Green rejected 39 shots on goal for the Packers. Austin incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
