Gust nets hat trick, leads Becker-Big Lake to 9-1 win over Moose Lake Area

The Moose Lake Area Rebels could not stop the Becker-Big Lake Eagles' Tristan Gust, who tallied a hat trick in a 9-1 win.

Gust got on the scoresheet 5:36 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:11 into the second and at 12:36 into the third.

Becker-Big Lake's offense rang up 68 shots on Moose Lake Area's net. The Eagles' goal total was higher than their season average. Becker-Big Lake has scored at the pace of 5.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of the Eagles were also effective in the Rebels' zone, and came away with two goals.

Becker-Big Lake also got points from Ethan Boutin, who also registered one goal and one assist and Zach Veau, who also had two goals and one assist. Becker-Big Lake also had goals scored by Taylor Giving, who had one and Jason Tonneslan, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Becker-Big Lake were Nick Stalpes and Richard Eisenreich, who each chipped in one and Ben Gilchrist, Grant Vickerman, and Elliott Darsow, who contributed two a piece.

Moose Lake Area found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere eight shots against Becker-Big Lake's defense.

The Rebels were led by Cole Lower, who scored the team's only goal. Lower scored on the power play 15:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Moose Lake Area had taken the advantage when the Eagles' Ryan Houghton got sent off for interference.

Becker-Big Lake's Ethan Huber stopped seven shots out of the eight that he faced. The Eagles incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Gage Mohelsky recorded 59 saves for the Rebels. Moose Lake Area incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
