Galkowski nets hat trick, leads Minnehaha Academy to 8-1 win over St. Paul Como ParkMinnehaha Academy Ice Arena Thu, Jan 03, 2013 Josh Galkowski lifted the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks to an 8-1 victory with a hat trick against the St. Paul Como Park Cougars. Galkowski got on the scoresheet 15:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:15 into the second and at 14:01 into the third.Minnehaha Academy was led by goalie Matt Sawyer, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. Sawyer managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.31 prior to the game. The Red Hawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Minnehaha Academy wound up below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. The Red Hawks kept St. Paul Como Park's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ernie Mantel made 26 saves on 34 shots. Minnehaha Academy found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Red Hawks average 4.2 goals per contest. Minnehaha Academy took advantage of the Cougars' penalties, tallying three goals off of four power play opportunities. Minnehaha Academy also got points from Ryan Evenson, who also registered two goals and two assists, Ryan Leo, who also had one goal and one assist, Luke Erickson, who also racked up one goal and three assists, and Nick Terlizzi, who also registered one goal and two assists. In addition, Minnehaha Academy received assists from Josh Radtke, who had one and Erik Madryga, who had two. St. Paul Como Park did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Cougars put an average of 5.7 pucks into the net per game. Max Inskeep also scored for St. Paul Como Park. More assists for St. Paul Como Park came via Peter Gaertner and Anders Sateren, who each chipped in one. St. Paul Como Park totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
