Minnehaha Academy holds on for 3-1 win against Achiever NE AcademyMinnehaha Academy Ice Arena Thu, Feb 07, 2013 The Achiever NE Academy Aces tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. A goal by Erik Madryga put Minnehaha Academy up 3-0 in the third period, but Achiever NE Academy pulled to within two on Baron Thompson's tally 2:14 into the third period. The Red Hawks were led by Max Hobrough, who tallied one goal. Hobrough scored 3:35 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Minnehaha Academy. David Schuyler provided the assist. Minnehaha Academy managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Red Hawks finished below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Minnehaha Academy additionally got points from Madryga, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Luke Erickson also scored for Minnehaha Academy. Other players who recorded assists for Minnehaha Academy were Ryan Leo and Nick Terlizzi, who contributed one a piece. The Aces excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Achiever NE Academy did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season.
