Marshall School Duluth rolls over Crookston, 4-0Mars Lakeview Arena Sat, Dec 15, 2012 The Marshall School Duluth Hilltoppers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over the Crookston Pirates. Matthew Klassen was all over the ice for Marshall School Duluth, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Klassen found the back of the net 1:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Marshall School Duluth and again while 6:07 into the second to make the score 3-0 Marshall School Duluth. The Hilltoppers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 15 penalty minutes. Marshall School Duluth put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Crookston to score on any of its six power plays. The Hilltoppers kept the Pirates' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Huglen made 37 saves on 41 shots. Marshall School Duluth also got points from Kris McKinzie, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Anthony Miller, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Marshall School Duluth received assists from Jeremy Lopez, Luke Pavelich, Brady Nash, and Nate Johnson, who each chipped in one. Crookston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Pirates did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Crookston averages 5.1 goals per game. Alex Murray made 20 saves for Marshall School Duluth on 20 shots. The Pirates incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
