Mankato West survives Rochester Century comeback, wins 3-1Mankato East High School Sat, Dec 22, 2012 The Mankato West Scarlets, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Mankato West and clinched a 3-1 victory. The Scarlets led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Mankato West's Ryan Jutting's scored at 16:20 in the first period to put the Scarlets up 3-0. Mankato West's penalty kill excelled, as the Scarlets gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays. Mankato West was paced by Scott McKissick, who tallied one goal. McKissick scored on the power play 6:06 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Mankato West. The Scarlets had gotten the advantage when the Rochester Century Panthers' Alex Ney was sent off for boarding. Nate Krueger picked up the assist. Mankato West was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. The Scarlets had been averaging 10.0 minutes in penalties per game.
