Loe's big game bests Mankato East/Loyola in 11-0 Mankato West win

Tyler Loe was all over the ice for the Mankato West Scarlets, as he tallied two goals and four assists in Mankato West's 11-0 win over the Mankato East/Loyola Cougars.

Loe's tallies came at 15:39 into the first period to make the score 4-0 Mankato West and short handed 4:32 into the second to make the score 5-0 Mankato West.

The Scarlets forced Cougars' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 68 shots and forcing 57 saves. Jeremia Merela made 31 stops and Aaron Kroeber made 26. Mankato West avoided man-down situations well, finishing with one major for five minutes in penalty time. The Scarlets ended up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Mankato West outdid its season average for goals scored. The Scarlets have scored at the pace of 6.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Mankato West also got points from Zachary Erickson, who also finished with four goals and one assist and Galt Goettl, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Mankato West included Cole Filler, who had two and Derek Frentz and Max Mettler, who each put in one. In addition, Mankato West received assists from Nicholas Campbell, Christian Klemme, and Austin Langworthy, who contributed one a piece and Tyler Jutting, Scott McKissick, and Ryan Jutting, who each chipped in two.

Mankato East/Loyola managed to stay out of the box for the most part, racking up one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. The total was was till above the Cougars' average of 8.0 minutes in penalty time per game. Mankato East/Loyola was held below its usual level of production. The Cougars put an average of 2.3 pucks into the net per game.

Jake Spiess made 15 saves for Mankato West on 15 shots. The Scarlets registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Mankato East/Loyola registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. The Cougars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brandon Adams was ejected from the game.
