Van Zelenak was all over the ice for the Albert Lea Tigers, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Albert Lea's 4-1 win over the Mankato East/Loyola Cougars.

Zelenak found the back of the net 3:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Albert Lea and again while 1:27 into the second to make the score 3-0 Albert Lea.

The Tigers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Mankato East/Loyola power plays. Albert Lea kept Mankato East/Loyola's goalie busy throughout the game, and Aaron Kroeber made 33 saves on 37 shots.

Albert Lea also got points from Andrew Thompson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Larry Olson, who also racked up one goal and one assist.

The Tigers' defense shut down the Cougars' forwards for much of the game, and Mankato East/Loyola got off only 10 shots during the contest.

Mankato East/Loyola also got a goal from Judd Schulz as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mankato East/Loyola were Logan Lebert and Grayson Gavin, who contributed one a piece.

Lucas Malimanek recorded nine saves for Albert Lea. The Tigers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Cougars incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mankato East/Loyola ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Grayson Gavin was ejected from the game.
