Brewster uses shootout to best Islanders, 2-1 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Brewster Bulldogs defeated Islanders in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout.

Brewster's Conor Bunyan was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 41 saves and let only one puck past him. Bunyan certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.39 entering the contest.

The Bulldogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

Brewster was led by Grogan, who grabbed one goal. Grogan scored 11:17 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Brewster. Jonathan Lovorn picked up the assist.

Islanders did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Islanders averages 3.1 goals per game. Islanders forced the Bulldogs goalie Bunyan to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Islanders was led by Christopher Maksut, who scored the team's only goal. Maksut scored 19:08 into the second period to make the score 1-1.

Brewster incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Michael Kitts rejected 18 shots on goal for Islanders. Islanders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
