Blake School holds on for 4-3 win against HutchinsonHutchinson High School Tue, Jan 15, 2013 The Hutchinson Tigers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Blake School Bears would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Blake School took a 4-2 lead during the second period, only to have Hutchinson storm back on a Matt Sandeen goal 8:15 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Bears were led by Johnny Ferguson, who finished with one goal. Ferguson scored 15:46 into the second period to make the score Blake School. Edmund Chute assisted on the tally. Blake School forced the Tigers goalie Kellyn Buss to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Blake School additionally got points from Mark Lyman, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Sam Chute, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Christopher Chute also scored for Blake School. More assists for Blake School came via Myles Cunningham and Cade Gleekel, who each chipped in one. Hutchinson managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Tigers finished below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Hutchinson's offense rang up 39 shots on the Bears' net. The Tigers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Hutchinson was helped by Matthew Cowger, who registered one goal. Cowger scored 5:41 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Blake School. Tory Adams provided the assist.
