Hirsch, Eveleth-Gilbert blank Greenway, 4-0

Derek Hirsch made 30 saves to complete the shutout and led the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears to a 4-0 win against the Greenway Raiders.

Eveleth-Gilbert was paced by Cole Jackson, who grabbed one goal. Jackson scored 8:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Eveleth-Gilbert. Luke Rozinka provided the assist.

The Golden Bears stifled Greenway's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Eveleth-Gilbert's offense rang up 38 shots on the Raiders' net.

Others who scored for Eveleth-Gilbert included Briar Linnell, who had one and Mitchell Huffman, who had two. In addition, Eveleth-Gilbert received assists from Nick Moe, who had two and Brett Kivela, who had three.

Greenway's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Eveleth-Gilbert power plays. The Raiders could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Greenway averages 3.5 goals per game.

The Golden Bears ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Mike LaDoux made 34 saves for the Raiders on 38 shots. Greenway incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
