St. Cloud Apollo rolls over Fergus Falls, 7-3

The St. Cloud Apollo Eagles had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-3 win over the Fergus Falls Otters.

St. Cloud Apollo's offense rang up 39 shots on Fergus Falls' net. The Eagles' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, St. Cloud Apollo averages 4.9 goals per contest. The Eagles was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play.

St. Cloud Apollo was helped by Jared Christen, who racked up two goals and one assist. Christen scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:45 into the second period to make the score 4-2 St. Cloud Apollo. A tripping penalty on Sam Rausch had put the Eagles on the power play. Tanner Breidenbach assisted on the tally. Christen's next tally on the power play made the score 6-2 St. Cloud Apollo with 12:11 left in the third period. Jason Omann picked up the assist. St. Cloud Apollo additionally got points from Omann, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, Paul Kenney, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Jordan Keller, who also finished with one goal and one assist. St. Cloud Apollo also got a goal from Josh Kenney as well. More assists for St. Cloud Apollo came via Brandon Bloch, who had two.

Ean Goos also scored for Fergus Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Fergus Falls were Joe Nathe, Taylor Lemke, and Jesse Ketonen, who each chipped in one.

Nick Althaus made 17 saves for St. Cloud Apollo on 20 shots. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Andrew MacFarlane rejected 32 shots on goal for the Otters. Fergus Falls totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. For the Otters, Ketonen was ejected from the game.
