The Fergus Falls Otters tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Alexandria Cardinals held on for a 3-2 victory.

Alexandria took a 2-0 lead during the second period, only to have Fergus Falls storm back on a Casey Ward goal 2:57 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Tom Schmidt was all over the ice for the Cardinals, as he finished with two goals in the win.

Alexandria forced the Otters goalie Andrew MacFarlane to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Matt Resch also scored for Alexandria. Other players who recorded assists for Alexandria were Parker Revering, who had two.

Fergus Falls also got a goal from Joe Nathe as well. In addition, Fergus Falls received assists from Ean Goos and Sam Rausch, who contributed one a piece.

Ben Allen rejected 17 shots on goal for the Cardinals. Alexandria incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Fergus Falls' MacFarlane stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Otters incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
