Farmington beats Owatonna 8-1 as Hyytinen gets hat trick

Justin Hyytinen netted a hat trick to lead the Farmington Tigers over the Owatonna Huskies, 8-1.

Hyytinen got on the scoresheet 8:09 into the second period. He then added goals at 10:39 into the second and at 14:19 into the third.

Farmington stifled Owatonna's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Tigers' offense rang up 48 shots on the Huskies' net. Farmington's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Tigers average 4.5 goals per contest. Farmington's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Farmington additionally got points from Alex Aubrecht, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jordan Lugowski, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Jack Erickson, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Tanner Grubb also scored for Farmington. In addition, Farmington received assists from Kevin Olund, who had one and Grant Hauswirth and Justin Novak, who each chipped in two.

Owatonna was led by Matt Ratzloff, who scored the team's only goal. Ratzloff scored 4:43 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Owatonna. Aaron Kirsch provided the assist.

Austin Krause recorded 19 saves for the Tigers. Farmington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Greg Somers made 40 saves for the Huskies on 48 shots. Owatonna incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
