Blackmum's hat trick boosts St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad over Ely/Northeast Range, 17-3

The Ely/Northeast Range Timberwolves could not stop the St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad Spartans' Drew Blackmum, who tallied a hat trick in a 17-3 win.

Blackmum notched his first tally 2:03 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:31 into the first and at 4:00 into the second.

St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad gained an early advantage, leading 8-2 by the end of the first period.

The Spartans forced Ely/Northeast Range goalie Kael Richards to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots. St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad bested its season scoring average. This season, the Spartans average 5.1 goals per contest.

St. Paul Academy/Mounds Park Acad additionally got points from Mick Sullivan, who also tallied two goals and two assists, Jared Mickelson, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Cameron Causey, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Peter Wood, who also racked up four goals and one assist, Jake Westfield, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Tyler Seplak, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Cal Nicholson, who also registered two goals and one assist.
