Lundgren's big game bests Superior WI in 10-3 Duluth East win

Ryan Lundgren had four goals and two assists to lead the Duluth East Greyhounds to a 10-3 victory over the Superior WI Spartans.

Lundgren's first goal came 12:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:34 into the second, at 7:14 into the third, and at 11:20 into the third.

Duluth East's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Superior WI power plays. The Greyhounds surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Duluth East averages 4.2 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals. The Greyhounds' offense was clicking better than usual and put 37 shots on goal during the game, better than the 7.1 shots per game they average.

Duluth East additionally got points from Meirs Moore, who also registered two goals and three assists, Alex Toscano, who also had one goal and two assists, and Phil Beaulieu, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Duluth East also got a goal from Alex Trapp as well. Other players who recorded assists for Duluth East were Tyler Sworsky, who had one and Jack Forbort, who had three.

Superior WI was led by Aaron Miller, who had one goal and two assists. Miller scored 1:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Superior WI. Aaron Wakefield-Zubia also scored for Superior WI.

Casen Sjerven made 13 saves for Duluth East on 16 shots. The Greyhounds incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Reiswig rejected 27 shots on goal for the Spartans. Superior WI incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
