Duluth East downs Forest Lake, 5-2

Alex Toscano had two points to lead the Duluth East Greyhounds to a 5-2 victory over the Forest Lake Rangers.

Duluth East stifled Forest Lake's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 34 shots on target during the contest, the Greyhounds exceeded the 4.7 shots they average per game this year.

Duluth East additionally got points from Nick Altman, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Ryan Lundgren, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Duluth East also got a goal from Brian Bunten as well. Other players who recorded assists for Duluth East were Andrew Kerr, Alex Trapp, and Cody Packingham, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers were helped by John Suess, who registered one goal. Suess scored 4:14 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Duluth East. Weston Kilpela also scored for Forest Lake. In addition, Forest Lake received assists from Cody Rogala, who had one.

Casen Sjerven rejected 18 shots on goal for Duluth East. The Greyhounds totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Jesse Garcia made 29 saves for Forest Lake on 33 shots. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
